ReconcilingWorks is proud to announce our newest Reconciling in Christ congregation, Trinity Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Trinity Lutheran’s website says, “our Reconciling in Christ designation means our church publicly welcomes your children, siblings, and friends who are gay or lesbian and often feel excluded or scorned. Further, this designation affirms that people of all sexual orientations and gender identities share the worth that comes from being unique individuals created by God.” Read the full resolution here.

After a 9 month period of study, the Council appointed Task Force found consensus among Trinity members in favor of an Affirmation of Welcome and RIC designation. This was discovered through numerous listening sessions, educational forums, and Bible studies. For more information about the Building an Inclusive Church process, click here.

“We have been reconciled as one through Christ by His grace and love, and it is for this purpose that we affirm the following,” Trinity’s welcome statement reads. “People of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, educational backgrounds, marital status, physical or mental ability, theological perspective, and economic conditions share the worth that comes from being unique individuals created by God, and as such are welcome in the worshipping community of Trinity Lutheran Church.

We invite all to visit and be a part of the worship community of Trinity.”

Trinity’s mission and presence has been felt by people in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and the surrounding communities. Its outreach ministries include a community Thanksgiving Dinner, a food pantry, a homeless shelter, the interfaith hospitality network, the quilting ministry, and a healthcare clinic.
