Help ReconcilingWorks welcome a new Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community:

Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington, Virginia.

Their welcome statement reads:

“Since our founding, Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church (RELC) has served the community of Northern Virginia and continues to strive to be a welcoming congregation.

As a community grounded in the love of Christ, we celebrate the variety of God’s creation. We welcome people of every race, culture, ethnicity, age, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, and physical and mental ability. Here we are all equally beloved children of God, called to journey together in faith, compassion, and justice.

We actively engage in the work of racial equity, gender equity, and environmental stewardship, recognizing these as essential parts of our calling to love and serve our neighbors. We believe that the pursuit of justice and care for creation are vital expressions of God’s love for the world, and we invite you to join us as we strive to build a more just, compassionate, and sustainable community.

As Jesus teaches in the Gospel of Matthew, ‘Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me’ (Matthew 10:40). Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here. Join us as we seek to reflect God’s boundless grace and embody Christ’s mission in our world.
