A New RIC Community: Salem Lutheran Church (Moline, IL)

Help ReconcilingWorks welcome a new Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community:

Salem Lutheran Church in Moline, Illinois.

Their welcome statement reads:

“Throughout its history, Salem Lutheran Church in Moline, Illinois has striven to be “The Welcome Place,” and continues to welcome all people, honoring the human differences of race, color, sex, gender, age, national origin, LGBTQIA+ identity, religious tradition, marital status, immigration status, personal socio-economic circumstances, or being differently-abled.

We commit to being a Reconciling in Christ congregation as we reject all that divides us as people of God, and pledge to continue to cherish, support and nurture all of God’s beloved children, through prayer, study and fellowship. We are committed to following the Holy Spirit on our journey toward both racial equity and anti-racism, consciously and actively working to identify, reject and dismantle racism in our world, our community and in ourselves.

Acknowledging that Christ calls us to unity and wholeness, we joyfully invite all to join us in praising and worshipping our Loving God, especially those who have experienced exclusion or hurt by the Church in the past. We eagerly seek to work toward repairing a broken world through love for and service to one another, our neighbor, our community and our world, all in the name of Jesus Christ. No matter where you find yourself in life, know that you are loved at Salem.
