At ReconcilingWorks, we believe clearly and without hesitation: legislation that bans or restricts transgender health care goes directly against how we live out our faith.
These laws put transgender and nonbinary people—especially young people—at real risk. They deny bodily autonomy, undermine the sacred trust between patients, families, and medical providers, and cause deep harm to people who are already navigating a world that too often refuses to see their full humanity.
Any legislation that denies the flourishing of Transgender people goes directly against how we live out our faith as shaped by the Gospel and the life of Jesus. Jesus consistently stood with those pushed to the margins. He healed without precondition, restored dignity, challenged systems that caused harm, and called communities to choose love over fear.
As people of faith, we cannot remain silent when harm is being done in the name of politics or religion.
The way through this moment is not isolation or despair. The way through is community—rooted in the transforming love of God. A love that names injustice. A love that protects life. A love that insists transgender people are beloved, whole, and worthy of care.
