ReconcilingWorks is proud to announce our newest Reconciling in Christ congregation, Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Columbia, SC.

All really means all at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Columbia

Gethsemane Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, has voted unanimously to become a “Reconciling in Christ” (RIC) Congregation, which means that this congregation advocates for the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons in all aspects of the congregation’s life.

Pastor Seth Gibson says, “When we say all are welcome, we mean all people are welcome to join us for worship, fellowship, and to be in mission with this faith family.” He adds, “We are working with ReconcilingWorks, to continue the work of being a safe place for all people, no matter their background, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or economic status. We provide a place of comfort and safety. We reach out to teach that Christ’s message, the Gospel, is for everyone equally.”

Gethsemane, a small, multicultural church, gathers in the name of Christ to embrace all people on their journey of faith. In a broken world, with more than its share of hate and violence, Gethsemane is an old church working to do new things and be a safe place of grace

Join us for worship Sundays at 11:00 am, at 6904 Satchelford Rd, Columbia, SC 29206. Visit us online at www.GLCelca.org and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/GethsemaneLutheranSC
