Help ReconcilingWorks welcome a recent Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community:
Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Their welcome statement reads:
“At Redeemer Lutheran Church all people are welcomed into a community united by the grace, love, and forgiveness we know in Jesus Christ.
Jesus was famous for extending a radical welcome to everyone he met, crossing over all human made lines and boundaries. The congregation at Redeemer Lutheran Church, having received Jesus’ welcome ourselves, extends that same reception to all people. No exceptions.
Redeemer Lutheran Church recognizes and repents for the historical mistreatment of all minorities and marginalized communities by the Church universal. Further, the members of Redeemer commit to racial equity for all people. As followers of Jesus we pledge ourselves to the work of antiracism by working against all forms of oppression and discrimination contrary to the witness of Jesus Christ.
We welcome all who seek to follow Jesus regardless of race, ethnicity, class, age, gender, marital status, nationality, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, and family configuration, to journey together toward the promised land of God.“
