LGBTQIA+ Icon Billie Jean King (American tennis player)
“Equity is not a woman’s issue, a LGBTQ+ issue or a minority issue, it’s everyone’s responsibility. None of us is as strong as all of us are together.”
“Ever since that day when I was 11 years old, and I wasn’t allowed in a photo because I wasn’t wearing a tennis skirt, I knew that I wanted to change the sport.”

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) month. This month is a time of celebration, but also recognition of those who have participated in the journey toward equality, justice, and the freedom to love without fear. Each day of this month we will be spotlighting one of the people who has taken a stand in the struggle toward inclusion and acceptance for all.
