LGBTQIA+ Icon Lena Waithe (Award-winning writer, creator, producer, actor, and CEO)
“Being born gay, black, and female is not a revolutionary act. Being proud to be a gay black female is.”
“The things that make us different, those are our superpowers – every day when you walk out the door and put on your imaginary cape and go out there and conquer the world because the world would not be as beautiful as it is if we weren’t in it.”

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) month. This month is a time of celebration, but also recognition of those who have participated in the journey toward equality, justice, and the freedom to love without fear. Each day of this month we will be spotlighting one of the people who has taken a stand in the struggle toward inclusion and acceptance for all.
