LGBTQIA+ Icon: Morris Kight

LGBTQIA+ Icon Morris Kight (LGBTQ+ activist)

“So marched we did, with butterflies in our stomachs, with legitimate doubts and fears but with enormous courage and devotion.”

“Think of yourself as being: I’m being OK, I’m being good, I’m being gay. Build on that and through that we’re building a community. It’s not perfect, but we can get there.”

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) month. This month is a time of celebration, but also recognition of those who have participated in the journey toward equality, justice, and the freedom to love without fear. Each day of this month we will be spotlighting one of the people who has taken a stand in the struggle toward inclusion and acceptance for all.
