Help ReconcilingWorks welcome a new Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community:
Advent Lutheran Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Their welcome statement reads:
“God’s grace abounds, and God loves us all without exception.
We welcome and affirm all as they are, and share in that abundant grace through our worship, service, and fellowship. We affirm and embrace people of every faith background and every place on the journey of belief, doubt, and questioning. We affirm and embrace people of every race, culture, and ethnicity, and we commit ourselves to the work of racial equity and anti-racism.
We affirm and embrace people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, and of every family and relationship status. We affirm and embrace people of every body and mind, whose gifts and struggles alike may be seen or unseen. We affirm and embrace those who carry the weight of addiction, illness, poverty, hunger, homelessness, or imprisonment, and we walk together as one, for our unity is in Christ.
We welcome all who are seeking or open to God’s love and grace. We believe that God’s word is not a weapon for earthly judgment but a warm blanket, with room for all to share in the comfort of boundless grace. We pledge that we will strive to live, grow, and continue learning as a reconciling and embracing people in our life together, in our care for our neighbors, and in our witness for justice in the world. We celebrate you just as God made you, value your unique perspective, and invite you to make your home among us.“
