Help ReconcilingWorks welcome a new Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community:
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Duluth, Minnesota.
Their welcome statement reads:
“Diversity is a gift of God. God’s grace is central to our life and practice. We believe God loves everyone, always and no matter what.
You are welcome here at Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church! We are a community committed to serving our neighbors and working to end poverty. We are committed to welcoming and affirming all people, inclusive of all personal qualities such as gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, family structure, ability, race, cultural background, age, citizenship status, or socio-economic status.
We acknowledge that the community in which we live, work, worship, and play is located on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of Indigenous people. We commit to antiracism and justice work, knowing that we have not yet become the community God calls us to be. We commit to humility in learning and building relationships with all of our neighbors, especially those we and the Church have hurt and continue to hurt.
We celebrate and embrace each person as a unique creation, made in the image of God, and bearing God’s Spirit. Abridged version: Diversity is a gift of God. God’s grace is central to our life and practice. We celebrate and embrace each person as a unique creation, made in the image of God, and bearing God’s Spirit.“
