49 Synod assemblies, 75+ volunteers, about 12,000 Lutherans and hundreds of important, life-giving, and life-saving conversations about hospitality, inclusion, and celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people in the Lutheran church. Those are just a few ways ReconcilingWorks can describe the 2017 Synod Assembly season.
ReconcilingWorks extends a warm "Thank You!" to the 75+ volunteers who made it possible for ReconcilingWorks to have interactive display tables at these 49 ELCA synod assemblies. Deepening and expanding the RIC program is one of four strategic directions at ReconcilingWorks, and hundreds of Lutherans had conversations across the country this spring about the importance of welcoming, including and celebrating LGBTQ people and their families in the Lutheran church.
The joy expressed by so many Lutherans when they encounter God's loving presence in the form of ReconcilingWorks volunteers is overwhelming and contagious! Please check out the photos on the right from synod assemblies across the map. If you have ReconcilingWorks photos from your synod assembly, we would love to share them and celebrate you. Thanks for a GREAT synod assembly season!
