During Bisexual Awareness Week, we celebrate a truth at the heart of our faith: God’s love is abundant. It does not ask us to divide ourselves into acceptable and unacceptable pieces before we are worthy of belonging.
Our bisexual siblings are wonderfully and beautifully made in the image of God.
Bisexual people have always been part of our congregations, our ministries, our families, and our communities. Their stories, leadership, questions, faith, creativity, and love are gifts to the whole Church.
As people of faith, we are called to create communities where bisexual people do not simply hear that they are “welcome,” but experience genuine belonging, affirmation, celebration, and opportunities to lead.
May our churches be places where every bisexual person can hear clearly:
God delights in you.
Your identity is sacred.
Your gifts are needed.
You belong here.
