850 leaders in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) are expected to be in attendance at the first Rostered Ministers Gathering in Atlanta, GA between August 7-10, 2017. ReconcilingWorks will be there too presenting a workshop and information table.
ReconcilingWorks’ workshop, titled “Reconciling in Christ-What Does That Mean?” will be presented by Executive Director Aubrey Thonvold focusing on empowering congregational leaders to be active voices in communities ensuring lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people are welcomed, included and celebrated in the Lutheran church.
At ReconcilingWorks’ table, rostered leaders will have an opportunity to write messages of affirmation to young people. We will bring those notes to the 2018 ELCA Youth Gathering to give to each young person who visits the ReconcilingWorks space.
ReconcilingWorks is looking forward to having conversation and strengthening relationships with hundreds of ELCA leaders.
